Abstract While mobile Augmented Reality browsers have become commercially successful, real-world usage behavior with Augmented Reality browsers is still widely unexplored. We present findings of an online survey with 77 participants, and an analysis of app store feedback for popular Augmented Reality browsers. Amongst others, we found that while the usage of Augmented Reality browsers is often driven by their novelty factor, a substantial amount of long term users exists. The analysis of quantitative and qualitative data showed that missing content or context is a major reason for quitting the use of Augmented Reality browsers.
