Abstract This paper describes a mobile augmented reality approach for on-site 3D visualization of underground infrastructure networks. The visualizations are automatically generated from Geographic Information Systems (GIS). To support the surveying of new infrastructure, an innovative workflow for planning and surveying of geospatial data is proposed. Moreover, we report on first results from field trials.
